Just wanted to say we had a quality game of football this morning against Racing Blythe, it was a proper game of Sunday league, played in the right spirit, good banter between the 2 sides and to be fair Racing probably did deserve to go through to the next round. Well done both sides.

Anon, its electric pink, how did you guess? lol
(Posted on 2010-03-03 21:59:00 by ) -
Roger - Due to the intermittent games being played, I have decided to leave the updates for the top goalscorers until all of the February data has been received, this should hopefully be in the next week to 10 days. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-03-01 23:29:00 by ) -
Moor Lane - Please let Tony Brueton know, also if you email admin@coronationleague.com with the details your colours can be changed on your contact info. Regards, Webmaster

Deano - Please get you club secretary to raise any concerns with the General League Secretary. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-02-28 12:00:00 by ) -
Our game was called off yesterday afternoon and out of curiosity we've just been to have a look at the pitch where we should have played and it was near enough perfect for a game of football. It seems slightly suspicious that the home team got it called off cos of a certain cup final today.
(Posted on 2010-02-28 11:16:00 by ) -
Deano - Games can be called off prior to Sunday morning by 1) The Council for parks pitches, 2) Groundsman for private pitches, 3) By the appointed match referee or other registered referee organised by the Referees Secretary, 4) The Management Committee. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-02-27 21:51:00 by ) -
Who is allowed to call a game off on a saturday afternoon? It seems premature to me to have called off games tomorrow when it might not even rain tonight. Surely it's worth leaving it til the morning and inspecting the pitch then, especially with the number of games that have already been lost this season?
(Posted on 2010-02-27 21:16:00 by ) -
hi, could you tell me how to register with the parks department via the coronation league thanks

(Posted on 2010-02-22 20:28:00 by ) -
Hi just noticed the league fixture for this week has got us as Edgbaston fc. As we are Kings Norton Greenwood now. The league table has been changed tho.
Many thanks. Mark
(Posted on 2010-02-22 16:27:00 by ) -
I reckon it would benefit all the teams in the coronation league this year to allow us to use the 5 spare cards we was allocated in either signing players or useing the spare players as part of the squad. There is going to be a lot of midweek games and from past experince it ruins the league when so many teams cant get players out and they award the other team the points. If this being the case all teams will have an extra 5 players to call up on. I no it would also benefit Mark and Kevin as ive personaly chopped and changed players and its a headache for us all. Thanks

Ada - Thanks, website updated, still call the results line tomorrow though! Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-02-20 20:17:00 by ) -
Tysley Vs Kingshurst St Annes also off,
(Posted on 2010-02-20 19:40:00 by ) -
Just had our game called off again tomorrow. Any idea when midweek games are likely to start? I have a feeling one or two clubs might have to play a fair few of them.
(Posted on 2010-02-20 18:05:00 by ) -
Mike - Edgbaston have changed their name to Kings Norton Greenwood. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-02-18 17:18:00 by ) -
I notice that Edgbaston FC do not appear in the league tables or matrix for Alliance Division One. What has happened to them ?
(Posted on 2010-02-18 12:10:00 by ) -
N-Dubz - Good spot, I have now corrected the Matrix. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-02-15 20:24:00 by ) -
Webmaster - In the results matrix for alliance division one, rovers return v kings norton is down as a 4-4. Where as in the league it says kings norton have won all games, and lost one, but no draw. I was just wondering which the correct result was, thanks.
(Posted on 2010-02-15 13:32:00 by ) -
Thanks, keep up the good work.
(Posted on 2010-02-14 12:36:00 by ) -
Nice one Webmaster! Good work, keep it up!
(Posted on 2010-02-13 11:47:00 by ) -
Moor Lane - I agree, I have now created results matrix for all divisions which include games up to 7th February. These can be found beneath the respective divisions.
Anon - I will correct the name as requested when I update the scorers charts over the next few days.
Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-02-13 09:55:00 by ) -
The one really useful thing that this site is missing is a results/fixtures matrix. For example, we are playing Fordbridge Social on Sunday, now for me to have a look at how they have got on against various opposition in our division, I have to click on each fixture date going right back to the start of the season, where as the whole divisions results/fixtures could easily be displayed within one table/matrix. Thoughts?
(Posted on 2010-02-10 11:31:00 by ) -
Could u please change the name of MICK BAKEWELL to NICK BAKEWELL please, division 2 lakeside stjohns. Thanks. Great site. Up the saints.
(Posted on 2010-02-07 19:45:00 by ) -
What has happened to the referee Graham Langston? He doesn't seem to have been allocated any games since Christmas. He's refereed us a few times this season and he's easily the best ref we've had.
(Posted on 2010-02-07 14:22:00 by ) -
Moor Lane - Please speak to Steve Bertie reference the league tables and he will update accordingly.
Jake - A decision has been made regarding the Marston Green A v Redhill Tavern fixture and the club secretaries will be advised of the decision in due course.
Concerned - Still alive and kicking, just been tied up with the day job that pays the mortgage, thanks for the concern though :-)

Is the webmaster alive? lol
(Posted on 2010-02-03 09:56:00 by ) -
Due to the back log in fixtures do you know if the commitee have decided if marston green get the 3-1 win over redhill tavern?
(Posted on 2010-02-01 12:26:00 by ) -
When will our 3 points that we were awarded to us due to Rowoods suspension, be added to our total ?
(Posted on 2010-01-31 22:31:00 by ) -
no worries, thanks for clearing that up
(Posted on 2010-01-24 19:04:00 by ) -
Luke - The table is correct, it was the result that was incorrect. Result now corrected. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-01-24 19:00:00 by ) -
hi there is a mistake in our league tables, you have given racing blythe 3 points today when they drew, they have drew 2 now, one today and one against us, they were on 19 earlier and now should be on 20
(Posted on 2010-01-24 17:47:00 by ) -
If you feel it unfair why not try and change the league rules? The commitee can only apply the rules which the clubs have agreed on already.
(Posted on 2010-01-20 11:26:00 by ) -
It just seems unfair on teams who have paid for the Ref at home and pitch hire to have no points to show for it, i thought the easiest way would be to award 3 points to teams who are yet to play them with goal difference not making a difference to the league tables, but that is just my point of view. I still think the Coronation is one of the best run Sunday league's I have played in and thank you for the hard work you and the rest of the committee put in all year round.
(Posted on 2010-01-18 21:09:00 by ) -
Sean - League rules have been applied. A team has to play a certain percentage of their games for the games that they have already played to stand and further matches to be awarded to the would be opposition. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-01-18 19:08:00 by ) -
Hi, I wanted to ask about the points being deducted from teams in Division 2 who have already played Highgate Sport who have now folded. To me it seems as though there is no benefit to those teams who have already played them and got the 3 points, compared to other teams who didnt beat them. Would it not have been better to award the 3 points to teams who have still got to play them, bearing in mind goal difference does not affect the league tables this year. Thank You
(Posted on 2010-01-18 18:17:00 by ) -
Gareth - The cup draws are yet to be made. Due to the postponed games over the last three weeks the next rounds of the cups may be pushed back slightly, however they will be published on the website as soon as they are available. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-01-10 10:34:00 by ) -
When will the next rounds of the cups be drawn and will the draws be appearing on the website soon?
(Posted on 2010-01-04 12:58:00 by ) -
Bournville Village - Fixture for the 31st is incorrect, you will be notified of the correct fixture nearer the date. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2010-01-02 11:49:00 by ) -
The fixtures show that we are due to play Celtic Bears on the 3rd and 31st Jan. We have already played Celtic Bears once so is one of the fixtures a cup game or a mistake with the fixtures.
Cheers

Ian - Thanks for your positive comments. The Management Committee work very hard throughout the year to ensure that the league runs efficiently as possible. The league has been comended twice in the last few seasons by the BCFA for the fairplay aspect (least number of matches abondoned across all the leagues in the area). This is due to the Committee, the member clubs and also the fact that nearly every match has an official referee appointed. There is a lot of effort put into ensuring the website is up to date with the latest info as quickly as possible and we are pleased that the website has been as effective as it has, it is there as a tool for use by everyone associated with the league. All the best for the New Year. Regards, Webmaster

Just a note to all, that as an outside observer, the Coronation League is one of the best organised, and has the best website, that i have come across.
The speed in which the website is up-dated each week is nothing short of Miraculous !
I am sure that this down to the hard work put in by everyone connected with it.
Well done to all concerned, and Happy New Year.

Roger - The data from December is almost complete (there were a few outstanding match forms), so as soon as the relevant data is received the tables will be updated. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2009-12-30 10:16:00 by ) -
considering we have had no games for a while, any chance of the top scorer charts getting updated??
(Posted on 2009-12-29 18:22:00 by ) -
Just like to say its a shame to see Highgate United from our league division 2 have resigned all because the players wouldn't pay there subs leaving them with little money to carry on.At the end of the day with the credit crunch and sponsors out there not been able to afford putting money into clubs, squads need to pull together and pay subs and help raise for there teams to keep them going through this difficult time. The Coronation League need us and we need them if we want to carry on playing sunday morning football in this league. We don't like seeing teams resign because players can't be bothered to pay subs.
PAY YOUR SUBS BEFORE EACH GAME THATS IF YOU WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL ON A SUNDAY MORNING. All the best Andy and highgate United.

There are games on the 20th but not on the 27th. Top goalscorers are being updated and will be issued to the site next week. Regards, Webmaster

when will the top goalscorer chart be updated for november?
(Posted on 2009-12-10 21:38:00 by ) -
I was just wondering if there are fixtures on the 20th and 27th of this month?
(Posted on 2009-12-10 11:15:00 by ) -
The decision on pitch suitability is that of the referee alone. Referees are under instruction from me to ensure that players safety is foremost in their decision making. Furthermore they are also instructed not to be influenced by either team when coming to their decision which is why no discussion or consultation should take place. The only communication I expect is when the referee has completed his/her pitch inspection and advises the team management of their decision and that decision is final. I find comments regarding this only being Sunday league a little suprising, we follow the same laws of the game and in the case of pitch suitability make the same considerations as officials in the proffessional game. Players safety is paramount. On the point of fixture backlogs, the overall programme is well on schedule to complete on time and in full.
(Posted on 2009-12-06 20:39:00 by ) -
I just want to say how disappointed i was today with the ref calling our game off against Tysley as both sets of players were up to playing on a more than good enough pitch to play on , ok it had 1 or 2 little puddles on it but nothing more than that . I do think sometimes the ref's should consult both teams to see what they think , remember this is sunday league football not the premiership and also this is going to cause a back log of fixtures . Maybe this could be brought up in the next league meeting?
(Posted on 2009-12-06 19:37:00 by ) -
Andrew - I dont fully understand the question? Fixtures are based on pitch availability various teams and leagues share venues so sometimes the home/away split will not be 50/50. However if you have played 70% of games at home in the first half of the season then you will play 30% in the 2nd half - so it evens itself out. Obviously Cup games are different as that is the luck of the draw. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2009-11-29 19:46:00 by ) -
hey,
Just wonderering how is the fixtures set out?
because since the start of the season we've had about about 3/4 away games
and its costing us quite abit a week for training and matches.
(Posted on 2009-11-29 19:27:00 by ) -
hi, frustrated again this morning with our coronation cup fixture being called off for the second time, also frustrating that when offered an alternative pitch, the team refused, i know its no issue for the league but i thought teams wanted to play on a sunday morning, its just frustrating for us especially as we are still in all competitions which means a backlog of league games, so basically midweek games for us at end of season, which could also affect us negatively as some of our squad work shifts! keep up the good work though obviously the league has no bearing on these issues but its just frustrating
(Posted on 2009-11-29 11:57:00 by ) -
Thank you (Gary Bagnall) for your positive comments. They have given this club a morale boost.
(Posted on 2009-11-24 18:00:00 by ) -
Jake - The top goal scorers include both league and cup competitions. However as I have advised this is gained from information supplied by club secretaires via the match report form, therefore there may well be some inaccurate date due to missing information. In terms of the Martson Green 'A' v Tavern fixture, this will be discussed by the League Management Committee and their decision will be communicated via the respective club secretaries. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2009-11-23 19:56:00 by ) -
im guessing the top scoring chart only includes league games, could you confirm this?
Also i would like to send my best wishes to the player who broke his leg yesterday playing against marston green A.
Do you know if the results stands at 3-1 as the game playerd 3 quaters of the match?
(Posted on 2009-11-23 12:44:00 by ) -
I would like to congratulate the teams I officiated today , Edgbaston and Sporting Kingfisher. In difficult conditions both teams played the game in the correct spirit. There was not a single word of dissent during the whole 90 minutes, both teams were an absolute credit to the league. Well done to all concerned.

Thank you tday clements im proud of my lads tday the way they conducted themselves I felt sorry for the ref he had no choice to allow the goal. When I told the lads to let u CLEMENTS score tday that was superb ( I just wish Mark Power ) would have run the length off the field to score lol. Im so proud that my lads allowed this incident not to effect tdays game, Thanks again respect in fooball today was shown by both sides well done bth sides..
(Posted on 2009-11-15 22:39:00 by ) -
We would like to commend all the players from Kingshurst St Anneâs for there show of sportsmanship today having kicked the ball out for treatment to one of there player's the ball was kicked back to the keeper which went into the back of the net Kingshurst allowed Clements to go up the other end and score straight from the restart people will look at the score 8-2 and say well that made no difference to the result before this incident the score was 0-0 this is not seen often enough in Sunday football once again respect
(Posted on 2009-11-15 21:05:00 by ) -
Hi just want to say well done to the league this season, everything is running smoothly and the referees have been really good so far, also would like to mention my team lakeside st johns who are playing some excellent stuff this term and are still unbeaten in all competitions, long may it continue and again well done, site is quality
(Posted on 2009-11-15 18:13:00 by ) -
James - There are currently no plans to put ground postcodes on the contacts page. Road names are provided (SatNavs actually work better with road names than postcodes) and there is detail of the locaton via the 'ground' button. If neither of these options are proving any use, then maybe asking the home secretary for the post code to the ground when they phone confirming the fixture might solve the problem. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2009-11-14 12:39:00 by ) -
Just wondering if there's any chance that the pitch postcode (or local postcode) could be added to the team contacts section? it would save secretarys time when trying to give players directions as most people have a sat nav these days and it would save us from searching for the postcode every other week, Thanks
(Posted on 2009-11-13 22:14:00 by ) -
Chris - Top goalscorers are currently being put together up to the end of October. I am hopeful to have these showing by the weekend. The present tables you see are old the ones, which will be removed. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2009-11-11 21:57:00 by ) -
I was wondering if there was going to be top goalscorers put up for alliance 2?
(Posted on 2009-11-11 14:49:00 by ) -
Moor Lane - The emotive comment was reference to your use of the word "bother" ie didn't bother to turn up. There may be a completely valid reason and as suggested in the previous post it may be worth getting the reasons/facts off the respective committee member before before making that type of comment. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2009-11-08 23:01:00 by ) -
It was a simple question, with no emotive language whatsoever, it even had a smilie at the end to highlight the fact ;-)
(Posted on 2009-11-08 22:17:00 by ) -
Moor Lane - Results for the Cup games now include results following penalties. The 2nd game was actually won in normal time and has been corrected. Re your point regarding the non attendance of your referee, I suggest you seek reasons from the Referees Secretary rather than once again using the guestbook to make a barbed comment. This is the 2nd time you have used emotive language in the guestbook, I would respectfully ask you make it the last. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2009-11-08 20:37:00 by ) -
Alright lads! saw some comments about the young refs. Today against Rowood we had a very senior gentleman ( trying to be polite ) . I just want to say he was quality. Realised it's a game and tavkles happen. No one was rude or negative and his attitude was brilliant, Even with his injury he kept going. His sense of humour was quality as well and its that what helps make good referee's. I hope we have him again as i smiled all game. Whoever he is keep it up old boy. You do the league proud. Nice one.
(Posted on 2009-11-08 17:50:00 by ) -
Ive noticed that since the season started our whole league results and tables are no longer in the evening mail on wednesdays like they used to be , has the league stopped sending them in as this would be a shame for those who dont have access to the internet as this was a good way to keep up with what was going on in our leagues .
(Posted on 2009-11-05 22:57:00 by ) -
Rob - Many thanks for the positive feedback, the website is for the clubs, so hopefully we are giving them what they want. As always if there are any ideas people have to improve the site then feel free to drop a line to admin@coronationleague.com - On the subject of Marston Green A there has been positive feedback received from clubs and referees regarding the style of play and the behaviour of the players. Always good to report the good stuff thats happening in the league.
(Posted on 2009-11-04 19:55:00 by ) -
As an avid supporter of Marston Green A, in the lower reaches of the Coronatation League, can I just say what a wonderful website this is. Bob, can you possibly bring in a ban, on managers donning bright yellow boots, as when I turn up to watch The Green, I get dazzled by their Manager, Steve "O'Neil" Wragg's boots. Invariably I have a bit of a hangover, and its just too much for me to take. Keep up the good work Bob, and keep your eye on this young up and coming Marston Green A side. They have talent in abundance.
(Posted on 2009-11-04 17:37:00 by ) -
Spectator - I have removed your comments as this type of report needs to be via the correct channels. Please could you report your concerns in an email to the Leagues General League Secretary Tony Brueton - secretary@coronationleague.com The referees Secretary will contact the match official for his report on events. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2009-10-25 18:09:00 by ) -
Ada - Unfortunately the scorers info is reliant on Secretaries adding the goalscorers on the match forms, therefore there will be anomolies where this data has not been provided. If Clubs wish to provide any data that is currently missing then they should advise Mark Power, Registrations Secretary who is compiling the scorers from the match Report Forms. I will not be able to amend any data on a case by case basis as I can only go with the information given by Mark. Thanks for your comments on the Website and am happy for any feedback on how the site can be improved - especially from a regular contributor like yourself. Best wishes, Webmaster.
(Posted on 2009-10-24 10:06:00 by ) -
Just checked our records on our site and Simon hession has 7 goals lol, tld ya that wouldnt be the last message.
(Posted on 2009-10-24 09:42:00 by ) -
I no its gna be hard to keep on track of top goal scorers, so we all has teams need to add home and away scorers on team sheets to make it easier for the coronation to keep on top of. I no i wont be the last to say this we have Dan richards on 6 goals aswell, and Chris lloydy is on 5 league goals has one of his was in the cup vs Maxtel. Thanks again website looks great.
(Posted on 2009-10-24 09:39:00 by ) -
Adrian - The appropriate committee member has been advised and will check their records and update as appropriate. Would all club secretaries note that any corrections that you believe are required to the league tables should be via Steve Bertie - vicechairman@coronationleague.com
Anthony - Thanks for the positive feedback, it is good that 25% of the leagues referees are aged 25 or under, the league has bucked the trend that most Sunday Leagues are suffering with many games going uncovered due to lack of officials. The good bahaviour of the teams will ensure that the referee numbers remain as healthy as they currently are.
Moor Lane - Data has now been forwarded for me to be able to put the divisional and overall top goal scorers on the site - this will be done during the week, I would stress however that the data has been gathered from the match report forms so will be as correct as the data provided.
Regards, Webmaster

When will the goalscoring charts be added?
(Posted on 2009-10-18 18:57:00 by ) -
Webmaster - i just wanted to leave a positive comment about all the young refs in the league this year, it is really good to see so many coming through.
(Posted on 2009-10-18 18:36:00 by ) -
Just want to say that i think the prem division is extremely strong this season as there are so many good teams in there . Every game we have played to date has been competetive and really good to be involved in even though we haven't got the results we think we have deserved . Oh by the way webmaster we have only conceded 14 not the 15 that is on the GA coloum .
(Posted on 2009-10-18 17:33:00 by ) -
Re the head to head rule - This was brought it (as voted by the member clubs at the AGM) to eradicate divisions/titles being effected by clubs unable to fulfill fixtures where goal difference was a major factor. The fact that divisional placings will now be on points followed by head to head encounters ensures fair play for all teams - Not really the makings of a disaster. Regards, Webmaster
(Posted on 2009-10-17 17:16:00 by ) -
The head to head system is actually used in La Liga in Spain.
(Posted on 2009-10-16 13:14:00 by ) -
i think its a ridiculous rule that goal difference doesent count at all, what league in the world has this rule? i think it has defonatly gotta be changed back next season, as its obviously a disaster

Have College Arms dropped out of Alliance 1 and been replaced by Celtic Bears? Or is it just a case of a name change?

In answer to the questions re the league tables. Normally the aim is to have these updated and on the site by 6pm on Sunday evenings. Unfortunately due to the web provider upgrading, the site has not been available to update. Apologies for any inconvenience. In reponse to the question on Highcroft Rangers, they have now been accepted into the league and play their first match on Sunday 4th October. Contact details and fixtures have been updated to reflect this. Regards, Webmaster

Hi can you tell me why it takes so long for the league tables to be updated, i realise most also have other jobs beside doing this but there is no better incentive for your team than to actually see were and how they are doing in the league standings.

Have Highcroft Utd dropped out of Alliance 1 already as they have not played a game and no longer appear on the fixtures?

Hi just want to say a big well done to our lads at garretts green today for beating fairfax united in the senior cup quartar finals. A very good and thrilling game, seems as were we the under dogs as being in a divison below them. well done again lads keep up the good work.
